Thank you to DiAnn Mills and LSBBT for allowing me to read and review the exciting Trace of Doubt.
Shelby Pearce is fresh out of prison and determined to start over and create a peaceful productive life. Agent Denton McClure is just as determined to prove Shelby is not only a murderer but a thief. Their paths collide in dramatic fashion.
Shelby's story is not so straight forward, she has many surprises for us as the author gradually peels back the story of her life. She's smart, with a gritty sense of right and wrong, protective and forgiving of others, she holds herself to a higher standard. The mystery of her life unfolds in a spectacular ending with a satisfying resolution.
Trace of Doubt is a lightning-paced romantic drama filled with with page-turning twists and unexpected surprises. Mills takes us from small town Texas to the glittering underworld of Miami. The crisp writing is engaging and entertaining. I found myself cheering for Shelby from the opening pages. Mills has created a cast of realistic characters who make this thriller a gripping ride.
The book contains a moderate level of violence and has an overlay of Christian themes. I found it an entertaining read and would happily recommend it to readers who enjoy mystery/thrillers and romance.
