The Details:
Death
in London is an action-packed thriller from start to finish. The death of her
father's fiancé sets Emma, a member of a London crime family, on the trail of a
ruthless killer who taunts her with cryptic clues. As more of her family dies,
she is in a desperate race to solve the identity of the murderer. Emma and a
mysterious private investigator known only as Nightshade, crisscross London
trying to solve the crimes and keep the police at bay. Emma is an unusual
character who seems to have anxiety issues as well as a savant ability to
recall what she's seen. I enjoyed her working relationship with Nightshade who
presses her to perform. I did not guess the killer’s identity and was surprised
by the ending. I did find it hard to believe that all the action could occur in
less than a 24-hour period. I thought the plot was original, the pace zips
along, the ending satisfying. Clearly, we have not heard the last from Emma and
Nightshade. Highly recommend.
